Adoption Timeline

• August 30. 2009- Arrived home to the U.S. as a new family of three
• August 26, 2009- U.S. Embassy Interview! We passed!
• August 21, 2009- Met our baby boy face to face!
• August 19, 2009- Boarded a plane to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to get our son!
• July 15, 2009- We received our embassy date! August 26th!
• June 29, 2009- We passed court on the 1st try! Praise be to God!
• June 12, 2009- We received our court date! June 29th! Please pray for us to pass!
• May 29, 2009- Our case was filed in court! We are in Group M!
• March 26, 2009- Our referral of our precious baby boy, Mekonen Jack Oren! 2 months old!
• March 3, 2009- 3 month update. We're getting closer! Hopefully this is our month!
• February 3, 2009- 2 month update. Over 70 babies in care! Possible referral in beginning of March (but we're thinking more like April).
• January 3, 2008- 1 month update. Lots of babies at the orphanage. Not sure if that makes our wait shorter...but hoping!!
• December 3, 2008- Our dossier sent to Ethiopia! We are officially on the waiting list!
• November 14, 2008- Baby Oren gets his first gift! A toy from Grandma Magz!
• November 10, 2008- Sent our dossier to AAI!!!
• November 5, 2008- USCIS Fingerprinting and a round of shots for Rachael!
• October 28,2008- Last doctor visit and now waiting for our completed Homestudy Write-Up!
• October 28, 2008- Last Homestudy Visit! Wahoo!!
• October 18, 2008- We received our dossier packet!
• October 16, 2008- 3rd Homestudy Visit
• October 14,2008- 2nd Homestudy Visit
• October 7, 2008- 1st Homestudy Visit
• September 27, 2008- Chose KidsFirst Agency to do our homestudy
• September 25, 2008- Sent out our adoption announcement to friends and family!
• September 24, 2008- Told our parents of the official adoption! Another grandson soon to join the family!
• September 23, 2008- It's official! We were accepted by AAI to adopt from Ethiopia!
• September 13, 2008- Sent our initial application to Adoption Advocates International (AAI)
• September 10, 2008- Chose to adopt from Ethiopia with Adoption Advocates International
• July 16, 2008- Got our 1st adoption information packet in the mail!
• July 7, 2008- Adoption research began! Told our parents we were going to adopt!
• July 6,2008- Decided to adopt first as a way to start our family.
