Thanks for checking out our journey to bring our baby boy home from Ethiopia! Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "older posts" to start from the beginning! Here are some common adoption words you might see in our blog:
Dossier- (dos-ee-ay) The huge compilation of all our paperwork that is sent to Ethiopia. It's pretty much everything about us and our life written on paper, authenticated, and notarized.
Referral- When we were matched with our baby! They contacted us with the info and picture of baby boy Mekonen who is forever ours! We waited 3 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days for this big day!

A Day of Fun at the Orchard!

We spent the day in late October at the apple orchard with some friends. It was such a beautiful day and we had a great time. Mekonen had a blast!! I couldn't believe that at this time last year we were going through our homestudy interviews and preparing our dossier. I dreamed of the next fall when he would finally be home. How good it feels..

A view of the orchard
This picture cracks me up. Jon drinking his apple cider and me kissing Mekonen...an every other minute activity of mine! I love Mekonen's facial expression on this one. Too cute.

The apple before it meets its doom...
Jon and his buddy were entertaining themselves by chucking apples at a hole in an apple tree to see who could get it in.
The tree that was getting a beating by all the apples. Notice the apples smoosh all over it. No one made the shot.
Look at that crazy hair!
Mekonen and his buddy Josiah hanging out in the pumpkin bin.
Olivia, Josiah, and Mekonen. None of them had a clue what was going on.
The mini's...such cuteness.
Gotta love teething...MMmm tastes good.
Yep...that's our boy! A whopping 22 pounds (for real)! He is huge!

Mekonen hangin' out in the apple bin.
Okay, so this apple had two little teeth marks in it. No, we didn't buy it. (Did I just admit that?) Shhh...don't tell anyone. I know, it is so bad.
Playing in the hay! Oh what fun!
